Meet Ms. Barnes!

Markeeta Barnes has been teaching at Micah’s Mission almost 5 years. She has a six- year old son, Elijah. She is originally from Utica, Ms. and currently resides in Vicksburg Ms. In 2010, she graduated from Raymond High School. When she graduated from High School and decided to take a break from school. However, after working with children who have disabilities, she decided to further her education to make more of an impact. She decided to become a Special Education Teacher. She immediately went to Hinds Community College and enrolled in Early Childhood Education face to face. She recently received her Career and Technical certificate in Early Education. Ms. Barnes graduated with her Associates of Arts Degree from Hinds, and is currently furthering her education at Alcorn State University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Currently, she is teaching the cognitive, phonics K-12 classes, and leading the Pre-ETS Department.
